Case Study

Michael Adamson is an established classically trained painter in Toronto, Canada. His work is of an abstract fashion, with inch thick layers of oil paint across the canvas, his work uses bright and saturated colours catching the viewer's eye. another sentence will go here to clean things up with his art.

The client asked to expand awareness and global engagement of his work through digitalization, and lead generation for an acquisition funnel. Working with Liz Kucharska and Tara O'Doherty as my mentors for this project, we decided on the approach and deliverables to be in four steps. Starting with a competitive comparative review, to see where the competition stands, and how to make sure Michael Adamson soars past. A feature and functionality summary with a value matrix to shape the conceptual model.  A high fidelity landing page to show how the experience could be integrated, and finally, a high fidelity mockup of the experience showing the key feature set.

No Distractions

Michael Adamson’s art is bright and unapologetic, so I chose to showcase that. I wanted the user to feel like they are in a clean and open space the same they would in a gallery, where nothing is distracting you from the art. The icons picked are all of a thin weight, to show some elegance while exhibiting the art. Muli was chosen for the typeface, this minimalist sans serif felt the perfect choice to showcase Adamson’s work with a professional and clean-looking type. For the colour choices, I picked all muted and greyed colours, except for a bright vermillion as the colour of choice for primary buttons, to let focus never leaving Michael Adamson’s work.
